Our Reason Why
Ebony
Our First Resident
Ebony is Safe Haven’s first individual to come aboard. She is also family and the reason why Safe Haven Group Home llc exists. My mom raised Ebony, her niece, since she was 6 months old and I (Shona) was 16 years old at the time. The moment she came to live with us I was drawn to her even as a child myself. Although she was my biological cousin, she was now my sister and I did everything to protect her from the cruel world we live in and believe me people were very cruel to her. I understood that one day my mom would get older and wouldn’t be able to care for Ebony as much as she would like. I decided to put a plan together so that Ebony and other individuals like her would have quality care from good people and still maintain their dignity by having control over their lives and the decisions they make. Today, my mom is now in her eighties and Ebony is with Safe Haven Group Home llc as planned. Our commitment is and will always be to make sure that everyone residing at Safe Haven feels loved as if they are also – OUR EBONY
